Business in France

Study in this vibrant city with a centuries-old history of intellectual advances and social tolerance. Take business classes in English alongside French students and enjoy the college-town atmosphere, nightlife, and student-centered community.

  • Courseload: 15–18 credits per semester, taught in English. Courses are specifically designed for business and marketing students.

Faculty

Françoise Defrecheux-Chaton is the on-site director. She and her staff provide housing arrangements, an in-country orientation, academic advising, and on-going support during the program. She has coordinated this program for many years and has taught at US and French institutions. A team of additional on-site staff provide support to participants and organize a variety of cultural activities.

About This Program

Live and study in Montpellier, one of France's fastest growing cities and an emerging cultural and educational center. Within easy reach of both mountains and the Mediterranean, and home to 100,000 university students, Montpellier is a young, vibrant city with a centuries-old history of intellectual advances and social tolerance. It is the ideal place for an introduction to French language and culture. This program, developed in conjunction with the Carlson School of Management, is based at the University of Montpellier. You will take English-taught business courses alongside French and other American students, as well as a Business French course.
 
Housing
Live with a French host family, in a shared apartment, or in an efficiency apartment, depending on your preferred level of independence.

Excursions
Local excursions are included each term to introduce you to the unique character of southern France. In addition, social assistants organize activities to help familiarize you with Montpellier and French students. You can also join skiing, hiking, and photography clubs or take optional excursions touring the castles in France or seeing the wonders of nearby Morocco.
